BUFFALO, NY – The William H. Fitzpatrick Chair of Political Science Lecture Series at Canisius University will welcome former presidential speechwriter, political analyst and author David Frum on Monday, March 19 at 7 p.m. in the Grupp Fireside Lounge, located on the second floor of the college’s Richard E. Winter ’42 Student Center. Frum’s lecture is entitled “Comeback: Conservatism That Can Win Again.” The event is free and open to the public.
Frum is a former special assistant to President George W. Bush (2001-2002), senior foreign policy adviser to New York City Governor Rudy Giuliani (2007-2008), and editor of the website FrumForum.com. He analyzes the crisis inside the Republican Party, the consequences for the U.S. economy, and offers detailed insights into exactly how Washington D.C. is changing and what these changes mean for the American public.
A frequent guest on FOX News and the BBC, Frum has joined CNN as a political commentator for the 2012 election season. He writes for theCNN.com homepage, contributes to the American Public Media programMarketplace, is a columnist for THE WEEK and Canada’s National Post, and contributes frequently to the editorial pages of the New York Times and theWall Street Journal.
Frum is the author of six books, including the New York Times best-sellersComeback: Conservatism That Can Win Again and The Right Man: The Surprise Presidency of George W. Bush. He co-authored An End to Evil: How to Win the War on Terror, with Richard Perle.
A native of Toronto, Canada, Frum holds bachelor and master degrees in history from Yale University. He earned his juris doctorate degree, cum laude, from Harvard Law School.
