Informal Education and Interpretation Application Process

The Informal Education and Interpretation program is multi- and interdisciplinary in nature. Given that applicants to the program have a wide variety of backgrounds and experiences, and that Canisius values diversity in the student body, we accept and encourage applicants with bachelor’s degrees in any major discipline. 

Please include any information that you consider relevant in your application. Submission of GRE scores and/or letters of recommendation is recommended, but not required.

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, but please note that eligible students may only enter our Informal Education and Interpretation program at the start of the Fall semester each year.  

If you are an international student applying to the program, please contact the admissions department prior to applying to determine your eligibility.

For priority consideration applications are due August 1st, 2024.

Admissions Requirements

1. Complete our Free Online Application.

2. Provide unofficial transcripts from the institution you have, or will be receiving, your undergraduate degree from. Please note that if your bachelor degree is in progress, you will need to submit your final transcript after you graduate before you can join our program.

•    The minimum cumulative GPA for undergraduate degrees is 3.0.
•    Applicants whose cum. GPA is lower than 3.0 will be evaluated on a case by case basis taking into consideration other criteria such as work experience, standardized test scores, letters of recommendation, and/or an interview.

3. GRE scores are not required for admission.  However if an applicant would like to include general and subject test scores with their application they must be sent directly via the testing service.

4. Additional information relating to professional and academic experience can be attached to your application.
