Field Experience
The Classroom Physical education majors receive extensive field experience prior to student teaching. Opportunities to observe and participate as a teacher are provided at outstanding schools in the Buffalo metropolitan area. The student teaching experience culminates with workshops in multicultural education, school violence prevention, drug and alcohol awareness, resume and job search techniques, and preparation for the New York State Teacher's Exam.
Service-Learning
Service Service-learning provides additional hands-on experience. Students may choose to assist with after-school programs for latch-key kids, organize a children’s hockey league, teach sound nutrition and health habits or participate in similar activities.
Professional Development
Professional Development Additionally, Kinesiology Society members attend and present model classes at state and national conferences and workshops. They also bring in guest speakers and volunteer at local community events and service agencies.
