Fr. David S. Ciancimino, S.J.
Fr. David Ciancimino, S.J., is the 35th president of Canisius High School where he once served as a teacher, admissions director and principal (1989-1997). He is a graduate of Xavier High School in New York City where he also taught (1982-1985) and served as headmaster (1997-2004). Prior to his return to Canisius High School, he was the assistant to the provincial and then provincial superior of the New York Province Jesuits.
Rev. Michael Corcoran, S.J.
Rev. Michael Corcoran, S.J., is the Director of Campus Ministry at Canisius High School, his alma mater. Father Corcoran has taught math and physics at six high schools -- Regis, Xavier, Fordham Prep, Cristo Rey Baltimore, Canisius, and Yap Catholic. He has also served as a Master Teacher in two middle schools -- Saint Ignatius in the Bronx and Brooklyn Jesuit Prep. Before returning to Buffalo in 2017, Father Corcoran was the Principal and Director of Yap Catholic High School in Micronesia.
Fr. Adelmo Dunghe, S.J, PhD
Adelmo P. Dunghe, S.J., is currently a professor of Religious Studies at Canisius University. After completing his doctoral dissertation, Pasolini’s Semiotics and a Cinema of the Sacred, Dunghe was awarded a multi-disciplinary PhD in Theology and Film from Canada’s University of Toronto in December of 2007, and went on to teach courses in Theology and Film at St. Joseph’s University (Philadelphia) and LeMoyne College (Syracuse). A former producer of radio and television programming, Dunghe was the creator of the internationally syndicated radio program, Contact, for which he was awarded two annual Gabriel Awards “for outstanding contribution to humankind” by UNDA-USA (the National Catholic Broadcasters Association).

Rev. Edward J. Durkin, S.J., director of the St. Augustine and St. Monica Scholars Programs of the Nativity/Miguel Middle School in Buffalo, arrived here in 2003 to help start this new venture after 15 years in Harlem, preceded by 15 years on the Lower East Side of Manhattan. In addition to teaching, he has also coached basketball, track, and baseball. In January 2008, Father Durkin received the Bishop's Education Medal from the Diocese of Buffalo for his work in helping to establish the new program on Buffalo's East Side.

Rev. Daniel P. Jamros, S.J., professor of religious studies & theology, became a New England Province Jesuit in 1967, a priest in 1976, and a teacher of Catholic theology at Canisius in 1985, where he has also chaired the Faculty Senate and managed Faculty Handbook revisions. His academic interests include the doctrine of God and Hegel’s philosophy of religion. His Ph.D. is from Vanderbilt, and he returns to its neighborhood every summer to work at the cathedral parish. He has also worked and studied in Iraq, Lebanon, France, and Germany. Fr. Jamros enjoys languages, literary classics, movies, friendships, and the Boston Red Sox.
Rev. Patrick J. Lynch, S.J.

Rev. Patrick Lynch, S.J., Jesuit Associate for Mission & Identity and professor emeritus of religious studies & theology, entered the Jesuits in 1960 and was ordained a priest in 1972. He received a doctorate in Christian Theology from the University of Chicago and has served as Rector of the Canisius Jesuit community, as a Director of the College’s Core Curriculum, and as Chair of the Religious Studies & Theology Department during his time at Canisius University. He now runs workshops and discussions about Jesuit history and values and spirituality in addition to teaching courses occasionally. Prior to beginning full-time teaching duties at Canisius University in 1987, he taught at St. Peter’s Prep in Jersey City and LeMoyne College.
Fr. Thomas Slon, S.J.

Thomas R. Slon, S.J., rector of the Canisius Jesuit Community, administers the Jesuit community, fosters its spiritual well-being, and assists the directors of the apostolic works where the Jesuits minster. Most recently, he served as the executive assistant (Socius) for the New York Provincial and then the U.S. Northeast Province. Before these administrative posts, he worked as an intern architect at the University of Scranton and then as a licensed architect at Arthur John Sikula, Associates in New York City. His architectural interest was Church renovation after Vatican II.
A native of Cheektowaga, NY, Father Slon entered the Society of Jesus in 1979 and was ordained a priest at St. Joseph’s Cathedral in Buffalo in 1990.
Fr. Jack Mattimore
Fr. Jack Mattimore, S.J. works with Campus Ministry and the New Buffalo Institute. Before joining the Canisius Jesuit Community, he worked as a chaplain on Rikers Island, New York City’s jail, and as director and teacher at Yap Catholic High School in Micronesia. He taught at Cristo Rey Jesuit High School in Baltimore and has been a teacher and administrator at Canisius High School, Fordham Prep, and Xavier High School. He has served as chaplain with Jesuit Refugee Services at the Buffalo Federal Detention Facility and at St. Luke’s Mission of Mercy and Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center. He is the weekend associate at St. Mary Church in Swormville.
