The Graduate STEM Scholarship at Canisius University is designed to support outstanding international graduate students pursuing STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) programs. This scholarship covers up to 25% of annual tuition and is awarded to incoming new graduate students entering the university in fall 2024. The current STEM-designated graduate programs at Canisius University include master’s of science degrees in Business Analytics, Cybersecurity, Data Analytics, and Finance.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must be incoming new graduate students entering Canisius University for the fall of 2024.
- Applicants must be pursuing a STEM program at the graduate level.
- International applicants must submit the Certification of Finance form and supporting documentation in their online portal after submitting their application.
Scholarship Conditions
- The Graduate STEM Scholarship recipients must reside on campus for the award period.
- Recipients must enroll full-time (minimum of nine (9) graduate credits) in their respective programs each semester.
- Students awarded this scholarship and are taking less than full-time courses in their final semester will still be eligible for the award.
- To renew the scholarship each year for the duration of the award, recipients must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.25 or higher.
- Recipients will lose the scholarship if their GPA falls below 3.0. Reinstatement of the scholarship is not possible if the GPA is brought back above 3.0.
- Students receiving this scholarship cannot enroll as commuters.
- The scholarship is valid for the graduate degree for up to 2 years.
- If a student receives a second Canisius scholarship offer of greater or equal value (upgraded offer), the subsequent offer replaces the initial offer. If a recipient receives multiple scholarship offers, the greatest value scholarship will be assigned.
- The combination of all scholarships (internal and external) may not exceed the student's Cost of Attendance (COA) at Canisius University

- Applicants must submit their application for admission to Canisius University's graduate program.
- After applying, international applicants must complete the Certification of Finance form and provide supporting documentation in their online portal.
- Selection for the scholarship is based on merit.
Renewal Process
- Recipients must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.25 or higher to renew the scholarship yearly.
- Renewal is contingent upon continued full-time enrollment and residency on campus.
