Management

Managers play a key role in the effective execution of critical activities within an organization, including strategic planning, production and operations management, human resources, employee and labor relations, and many other functions.  The study of management can lead you to careers in almost any industry or sector of the economy as an effective managerial leader.

The Management major provides you with a well-rounded education to prepare for this important organizational role. The curriculum contains coursework in quantitative methods, behavioral principles, and strategic management and emphasizes skills required for team management and supervision in all types of organizations.

As a management major, you can choose to enhance your career potential and enrich your business background by completing a dual major in both management and a related field of interest such as marketing, international business, finance, or economics.

Business Exploration Program

Management students can participate in organizations such as the APICS (the operations management and supply chain society) and the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).

Distinctions

U.S. News & World Report ranks Canisius 7th out of 45 institutions on its list of Best Undergraduate Business Programs. The ranking is based on peer reviews of small, private colleges and universities, nationally.
