Creative Writing
Apply your imagination and perfect your narrative craft in the Creative Writing program. If you would like to learn to write in your own original form, voice and style, the program opens up a world of opportunities for the novelist, poet, essayist, memoir or short story writer in you. Utilize your writing skills in publishing, education, multi-media, theater arts, film and much more.
You will develop crucial communication skills and creative abilities in a program of introductory and advanced courses focused on a variety of writing genres from stories and poems to essays and plays. Receive hands-on experience in literary publishing, and learn to present and submit your work for publication.
Study and work with faculty comprised of award-winning working writers who have published their own novels, stories and poems with national presses and journals. You will be encouraged to join in extracurricular writing activities such as the college's student-edited literary and visual arts magazine, the Quadrangle, and the Contemporary Writers Series showcasing world-renowned writers.
