Fill roles in stewardship and events, and research and prospect management
BUFFALO, NY ― Ginny Dadaian and Kate Lockhart are joining the Advancement Division at Canisius University.
Dadaian was appointed director of stewardship and events at the college, and will begin work on Monday, October 3. Dadaian comes to Canisius from Azuza Pacific University, a private Christian university located near Los Angeles, CA. She spent 18 years at the university, most recently as director of community relations serving as a liaison with legislative bodies, the neighboring school district and elected leaders throughout the San Gabriel Valley. Prior to this position, Dadaian was director of student financial services at Azuza Pacific University.
In her new role as director of stewardship and events at Canisius, Dadaian will be responsible for the administration of the endowed scholarship and endowed academic program. She will assist with the cultivation and stewardship of donors and manage donor-related events, including the annual Regents Scholarship Ball, which is the principal fundraiser for the Canisius University Board of Regents Scholarship Fund.
Dadaian holds a BA in public administration from the University of La Verne in California and a master’s degree in public administration from California State University, Northridge.
Kate Lockhart accepted the position of research and prospect management coordinator at Canisius University. She is responsible for conducting strategic research and in-depth data analysis to identify potential individual, corporation and foundation prospects for gift officers.
A native of Tonawanda, Lockhart joins the Canisius community from the University of Chicago where she worked as a graduate researcher in the Department of Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations. Specifically, Lockhart analyzed antique social networks using Coptic inscriptions from 8th century Egypt, and conducted archival and digital research in multiple dead and living languages. As a volunteer researcher for the Historical Society of the Tonawandas, Lockhart recently researched and created an electronic database of 19th century businesses in Western New York.
Lockhart earned her BA in history from the State University of New York College at Potsdam and an MA in near Eastern languages and civilizations from the University of Chicago. She began work at Canisius on Monday, August 29.
Canisius is one of 28 Jesuit universities in the nation and the premier private university in Western New York.
