BUFFALO, NY – Canisius University acclaimed author and creative writing professor Janet M. McNally follows up her young adult novel, Girls in the Moon, with a reading from her latest book, The Looking Glass. The event is scheduled for Tuesday, September 25 at 7:00 p.m. in the Grupp Fireside Lounge, located on the second floor of the Richard E. Winter ’42 Student Center. The reading is free and open to the public. A reception will follow.
The Looking Glass tells the story of 16-year-old ballerina Sylvie Blake and her search for her missing sister, Julia. In a vivid and wondrous fictional tale of sisterhood, The Looking Glass follows Sylvie as she sets out to rescue her sister from the unknowns she hopes to reveal.
In addition to The Looking Glass and Girls in the Moon, McNally is the author of Some Girls, a prizewinning collection of poems. She has been a fellow in fiction twice with the New York Foundation for the Arts (2008 and 2015), and her stories and poems have appeared in publications including Gettysburg Review, Boulevard, Mid-American Review, Ecotone, Crazyhorse and Best New Poets 2012 .
