Buffalo, NY – Canisius University has been ranked as a top university in New York State for return on investment, by AffordableCollegesOnline.org (AC Online). The online resource for higher education affordability and financial aid information analyzed New York State’s 472 colleges and universities and identified 84 institutions where graduates earn more, on average over their lifetimes, than graduates from other New York institutions. Canisius ranked 55 on the list.
“These are important lists for prospective students to consider,” says AC Online founder Dan Schuessler. “We’ve sifted through comprehensive data sources to find colleges and universities in New York that offer a high quality education with consistent, long-term payoffs in the workplace.”
In developing its rankings, AC Online considered education and income-related data from the National Center for Education Statistics, the primary federal entity for collecting and analyzing data related to education, and the Integrated Post-Secondary Education Data System, the primary federal source for data on colleges, universities and technical and vocational postsecondary schools. Institutions included in the rankings had to be fully-accredited, four-year, degree-granting institutions. They could be public or private institutions.
In separate but similar rankings, AC Online recently listed Canisius among the top 36 most affordable Roman Catholic colleges whose graduates earn high starting salaries. The salary research firm, PayScale, also ranked Canisius among the top 20 schools in Upstate New York to have the highest paid graduates.
