Buffalo, NY - Giving Day at Canisius University (Wednesday, April 26) was a huge success, garnering more than $345,000 in support from 2,009 donors - alumni, friends, parents, faculty and staff from across the country.
Canisius Giving Day may have ended on April 26 but Golden Griffins kept giving. As a result, the Class of 1967 Giving Day Challenge unlocked, resulting in an additional $100,000 for the college.
Giving Day Donors helped to unlock several additional challenges throughout the day, including $24,000 from the college’s Board of Trustees and $20,000 to support Women’s Rowing. Contributors to the Contemporary Writer’s Series, Women’s Rowing, and alumni from the Classes of 2001 and 2014 put these programs and classes atop their respective leaderboards.
Canisius made history for the second year in a row for the highest number of donors making a gift to the college in one day.
Canisius University is one of 28 Jesuit, Catholic universities in the nation and the premier private university in Western New York.
