BUFFALO, NY – Michael Thomasson, adjunct professor of digital media arts, has been selected for inclusion in the 2014 edition of The Guinness Book of World Records for having largest video game collection. Thomasson, who has 10,607 games, surpassed the previous record holder by nearly 2,000 games. He has collected video games and game consoles for more than 30 years.
Thomasson has received local, national and international media attention for his record, and has been featured in such outlets as The Buffalo News, CBS News, SKY News and The Sydney Morning Herald. He teaches Video Games: History & Technique, Electronic Game Design and 2D Computer Animation courses at Canisius.
