BUFFALO, NY – The Canisius University Center for Professional Development, 300 Corporate Parkway, Amherst, will offer three courses for leaders in not-for-profit organizations.
Grant Development and Management I, an introductory grant writing course, will be held on Thursday, November 1 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Grant Development and Management II, for experienced grant management professionals, will build on the first course and will be held on Thursday, March 21, 2013 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Both Grant Development and Management courses will focus on how to effectively write proposals in these times of intense competition and limited resources. The workshop is geared toward the non-profit professional rather than the researcher or academic. Participants will:
- Research and identify potential funding sources
- Address guidelines of public and private applications
- Understand the review process and learn how to organize material to address key points for reviewers
- Develop focused and realistic budgets
- Package professional grant submissions
Effective Board Management will be held Thursday, November 15 from 8:30 a.m. to
12:30 p.m. The course examines some of the common issues that face boards of non-profit organization, as well as some methods board leaders can implement to be more effective.
