BUFFALO, NY – ArtsCanisius will host three events in October 2018. The Buffalo Silver Band will kick off the season, in conjunction with the 716 Trombone Ensemble and the Syracuse University Brass Ensemble, to showcase a riveting program featuring the music of Meredith Wilson, Philip Sparke and Richard Strauss. The event takes place on Saturday, October 13 at 3:00 p.m. in the college’s Montante Center.
Canisius and the BPO Connection will celebrate 40 years of collaboration on Tuesday, October 16 at 7:30 p.m. in the college’s Montante Center. This festive concert will include works performed under the direction of Todd Craven, assistant conductor of the BPO and a piece featuring the Canisius University Chorale, under the direction of Bradley Wingert. A week-long event of artistic practices and presentations concludes October’s events. In a collaboration between the Modern Languages, Literatures and Cultures Departments and student organizations, ArtsCanisius encourages discussions concerning borders, walls, migrations and the experiences of refugees.
