Program Description
English majors are given the flexibility to specialize in a variety of subjects that fall within the English discipline including theater, fiction, poetry, the classics, and the contemporaries. You are given the freedom to pursue your education in the field or discipline that best aligns with your passion, or to enjoy a broad survey of everything that the major offers as a whole. Professors are noted scholars in their fields and work to help students engage with the material's text, context and professional criticism. You can also elect to take the creative writing English major, one of the few programs that you will find designed to provide the tools that are needed to begin a serious career as a writer.
