BUFFALO, NY – The Permanent Chair of Polish Culture at Canisius University and the Borders and Migration Initiative welcomes Włodzimierz Batóg, of the American Studies Program at the University of Warsaw, to campus at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, April 22. Batóg will present a lecture titled “European Nationalists and Anti EU Sentiment.”
The event, which is free and open to the public, takes place in the Research Center of the Andrew L. Bouwhuis, SJ, Library (1st floor), located at the corner of Main and Jefferson streets. Light refreshments will be available.
Włodzimierz Batóg is a professor of history and Visiting Kosciuszko Foundation Scholar in the American Studies Program at the University of Warsaw. His research interests include American social history and American radical left, about which he has authored two books: Subversives? Communist Party USA in the early Cold War, 1945 – 1954 and Protests of Ivy League University Students Against the War in Vietnam, 1965 – 1970. Batóg’s third book, Bridges of Mutual Understanding: Billy Graham’s Visit to Poland in October 1978, is forthcoming.
