The Permanent Chair of Polish Culture at Canisius University and the Polish Arts Club of Buffalo presents "Dr. Francis E. Fronczak and his Monumental Accomplishments" on Saturday, November 9, 2024, from 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. in the Richard E. Winter ’42 Student Center located on Hughes Ave. The event celebrates the 150th anniversary of the birth of Dr. Fronczak, and is free and open to the public. Lunch will be available for $10.
Fronczak was the first Polish American to earn a medical degree from the University at Buffalo and served as the long-time public health commissioner for the city of Buffalo. Renowned for his innovative leadership in public health, he gained international recognition for his war relief efforts in Poland during and after World War I.
