Professor Kerry Dytche began her career as a sixth grade English Language Arts teacher in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. While working, she completed her Master’s degree in literacy from Bloomsburg University in Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania. She is a certified reading specialist who holds a Professional Certification in Literacy from New York State.
Mrs. Dytche has spent the last 22 years teaching middle school English Language Arts in an urban setting and takes pride in building strong relationships with her students. She is currently teaching ELA and Social and Emotional Learning to her fifth graders at Tapestry Middle School in Buffalo, NY, where she has been teaching for 6 years.
In addition to serving as an adjunct professor (Teaching Reading and Writing in the Content Areas) for the last few semesters, Mrs. Dytche is also a mentor teacher for Canisius undergraduate students who are working on their student teaching.
She believes that when you build meaningful relationships with your students, the sky's the limit!
