Dr. Jennifer L. Clark-Saboda is an educational practitioner and researcher who has been in the special education field for 24 years, employed in various roles. Dr. Clark-Saboda currently works as the Director of Alternative and Special Education at Erie 2-Chautauqua-Cattaraugus BOCES, where she has served as the lead administrator for the past 12 years. She is also the Chairperson of the Statewide Network for Special Education (SNSE), a group serving as a conduit between the NYS Department of Education and schools across the state through consistent delivery of messaging and statewide representation of voice.

Additionally, Dr. Clark-Saboda is a qualitative educational researcher who has examined the women’s superintendency, gendered organizations, and gendered disproportionality within the profession related to the BOCES of NYS. Her work aims to offer a new understanding of why women stay in the superintendency while also bringing thoughtful attention and appreciation to how these women succeed in a male-dominated field through professional and personal supports. Dr. Clark-Saboda’s work is shaped by her career in NYS public education and her experiences in research. Personally, Dr. Clark-Saboda is the mother of three wonderful children, one of whom is diagnosed with Autism. Dr. Clark-Saboda brings the perspective of both a practitioner and researcher lens, but also as a parent navigating the field.
