Jeffrey McConnell

Dr. Jeffrey J. McConnell is professor and chair of the Computer Science Department at Canisius University, where he has been on the faculty since 1983.  During his career, he has developed 15 new courses, has taught 29 different courses, and has worked with students on a number of projects.  In 1993, he received the I. Joan Lorch Women’s Studies Award for his his efforts to establish the Women’s Studies program at Canisius.  He has published four books: Analysis of Algorithms: An Active Learning Approach (2001), Computer Graphics Companion (2002), Computer Graphics: Theory into Practice (2006), and Analysis of Algorithms: An Active Learning Approach second edition (2008).  He has over 20 journal and conference publications of which ten are in the areas of curriculum and teaching pedagogy.  He has over 25 workshop presentations in curriculum and teaching pedagogy including being the featured speaker at The George Washington University’s 1997 Teaching Center Fall Colloquium and was the luncheon speaker at Rochester Institute of Technology’s Insight ’98 conference.
