BUFFALO, NY – ArtsCanisius presents a performance by the winners of the fourth annual Persis Vehar Competition for Excellence in Composition on Tuesday, March 25 at 7:30 p.m. in the Montante Cultural Center. The event is free and open to the public.
The Persis Vehar Competition for Excellence in Composition is open to high school and collegiate undergraduate students living in or from Western New York. Works were submitted in February and judged by Canisius University Composer-in-Residence Persis Parshall Vehar and Michael Colquhoun, PhD, adjunct professor of fine arts/music. The prize winners, who will perform at the concert, are:
First prize winner: Teagan Faran, Williamsville East High School

Title: “Out at Sea”
