Canisius offers a new way for families to stay connected to their students and the university. The Parent & Family Experience is a free service for all Canisius parents, guardians and family members to stay informed throughout their student’s educational journey.
“Student success is at the heart of everything we do at Canisius” said Harold O. Fields, EdD, vice president for Student Affairs and dean of students. “Family support and engagement are central to student success and achievement, and this new communication platform will further strengthen the partnership between the university and the families of our students.”
An online resource powered by CampusESP, the portal includes the latest news and information about events and important deadlines, and provides resources for an array of topics including academics, scholarships, financial aid and housing. A customizable service, users personalize their experience by choosing information and programs specific to their student’s needs, and determine how often and in what format they wish to receive communications.
The Parent & Family Experience is also designed to bring Canisius families together, promoting interaction through the portal’s commenting feature. Parents can also post questions on the portal, enhancing communication with university staff.
“At Canisius, we promote a culture of engagement that supports student achievement and belonging,” said Fields. “This service is another way to ensure the success of our students.”
