BUFFALO, NY - The latest education ranking by U.S. News & World Report recognizes Canisius University’s online master’s degree programs in education as among the best in the nation. Of the 299 colleges and universities included on the list of Best Online Graduate Education Programs, Canisius came in at No. 105, moving up 26 spots from last year’s ranking at No. 131.
Housed in the college’s School of Education and Human Services, Canisius’ CAEP-accredited graduate education program offers online degrees in education technologies and emerging media, educational leadership and supervision, literacy education, physical education and teaching English to speakers of other languages (TESOL). This is the second time U.S. News & World Report named Canisius to its list of Best Online Graduate Education Programs.
“To be included in this 2018 ranking is the result continuous improvement efforts by our faculty who have dedicated themselves to developing flexible, hands-on curricula for educators who want to gain the knowledge and skills required to make a significant impact on student learning,” says Jeffrey R. Lindauer, PhD, dean of the School of Education and Human Services.
The rankings considered five general categories: engagement, services and technologies, expert opinion, student excellence and faculty credentials and training. U.S. News recognized Canisius for providing students with opportunities to interact readily with their instructors and classmates. The ranking also acknowledged the number of available student resources for leaning assistance, career guidance and financial aid.
