BUFFALO, NY – The Permanent Chair of Polish Culture at Canisius University and the History Department, with assistance from the Holocaust Resource Center of Buffalo and Polish Legacy Project, will present “U.N. Holocaust Remembrance Day” on Sunday, January 27. The event is free and open to the public with a reception to follow.
The event kicks off at 2:00 p.m. in the Canisius University Grupp Fireside Lounge located in the Richard E. Winter Student Center at 81 Hughes Avenue, Buffalo.
Sophie Knab, bestselling author of various Polish-based books, will offer a multi-media presentation on her book Wearing the Letter “P” – Polish Women as Forced Laborers in Nazi Germany, 1939 – 1945, an in-depth study of the many terrors faced by Polish women as young as 12 years old during WWII. Throughout the text, women share their testimonies, letters and documents of the horrors experienced in the midst of war.
