BUFFALO, NY – The Dr. George E. Schreiner ’43 Pre-Medical Center Distinguished Speaker Series at Canisius University will host Thomas J. Madejski, MD, on Monday, November 19. Madejski’s lecture, entitled “The State of the Medical Profession in New York,” takes place at 7:00 p.m. in the Chester HON ’01 and Diane Stranczek Science Hall Commons, located on Main Street between Delavan and Jefferson Avenue. The event is free and open to the public. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
Madejski is president of the Medical Society of the State of New York where his primary duty is to oversee all public health activities of the state’s professional organization for physicians. He is also chief of medicine and immediate past-president of the medical staff at Medina Memorial Hospital and medical director of Medina Memorial Nursing Facility.
His background in medicine is nothing short of extensive. Madejski is active in the community, having represented New York as a delegate at the American Medical Association (AMA)’s annual meeting for 13 consecutive years. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and a current member of the Orleans County Medical Society.
In addition to his ample list of employment and involvements, Madejski is a clinical instructor of medicine and pharmacy at his alma mater, the University at Buffalo.
Madejski earned his bachelor’s degree in pharmacy from the University at Buffalo and his medical degree from the SUNY Health Science Center in Syracuse. He holds certifications and specializes in geriatric medicine as well as hospice and palliative medicine, serving at the medical director of Orleans County Nursing Home, Absolut Care of Gasport Nursing Facility and the Hospice of Orleans County.
