BUFFALO, NY - Canisius is partnering with the National Urban Alliance (NUA) to create a new Center for Urban Education. Housed in the School of Education & Human Services, the center’s resources will be available to urban educators who want to enhance the quality of teaching and learning in urban schools across the region.
The Center for Urban Education has outlined six key objectives including the establishment of a professional learning zone in urban schools that is organized around the NUA’s professional development model. The center will also implement specific strategies to enhance new teacher recruitment and retention, and provide ongoing support and mentoring for urban teachers.
