Canisius University has named Sandra Miller as the new director of corporate and foundation relations. Miller secures funding from foundations, corporations, vendors and other grant-making organizations to support institutional priorities.
BUFFALO, NY ― Canisius University has named Sandra Miller as the new director of corporate and foundation relations. Miller secures funding from foundations, corporations, vendors and other grant-making organizations to support institutional priorities. She is responsible for the design, implementation and management of a comprehensive development plan focused on expanding and enhancing corporate and foundation relationships.
Miller comes to Canisius with more than a decade of leadership experience in higher education and government. Previously, she was director of grants, foundation and community relations at Trocaire College. Miller cultivated and stewarded relationships with relationships with public and private funders, and worked with federal and state agencies to secure funding and administer multiple, complex grant programs. During her tenure, Miller procured and administered an additional $3.9 million in grant funds to enhance academic programs.
Prior to Trocaire, Miller was director of special projects/special projects manager for the city of Buffalo. She directed the city’s capital budget process and administered large state and federal projects.
Miller holds master’s and bachelor’s degrees from the State University of New York College at Buffalo.
