Bohen Honored With Martin Advancement Award

BUFFALO, NY – Elizabeth M. Bohen ’74, MS ’76, director of prospect research, is the 2011 recipient of the college’s George M. Martin Advancement Award. 

Bohen returned to alma mater in 1999 as a prospect researcher. She was promoted to director of prospect research in 2006 and Bohen manages the college’s prospect research program for Institutional Advancement. She utilizes various online databases and formulas to provide reports and background information on prospects to support the work of the institutional advancement officers. Bohen’s research efforts have helped contribute to the success of the college’s A Legacy of Leadership campaign. Nearly $83 million has been raised to date. She also researches and writes biographies for college awards and honorary degrees, and for members of the Boards of Trustees and Regents.

Bohen obtained a bachelor’s degree in English and a master’s degree in educational counseling from Canisius University.

Established in 1983 by George M. Martin, then executive vice president for administrative affairs at Canisius, the advancement award is presented annually to a member of the college’s advancement staff whose initiative, creativity and teamwork brings distinction to him/herself and the college.
