BUFFALO, NY – The Canisius University Accounting Department will welcome Mark L. Morze to campus onThursday, November 10 at 3:00 p.m. in the Montante Cultural Center. Morze is a convicted white collar criminal who served more than four years in federal prison for his role in the infamous 1980s fraud case involving ZZZZ Best Carpet Cleaning.
Morze was chief financial officer of ZZZZ Best, when it bilked banks and investors out of $100 million dollars. Morze was charged with creating thousands of phony documents, which he supplied to auditors. He also fashioned fraudulent annual tax returns, which were used to meet banks’ lending requirements.
Today, Morze teaches ethics at Pepperdine University and at the Ethical Management Consultants group, as well as at numerous CPA societies and industry associations.
