BUFFALO, NY – The Northeast Conference on the Teaching of Foreign Languages has honored Canisius University students Amina M. Benman ’12 andKristen E. Flick ’12 with the 2012 Award for Excellence in Language Study.
Benman is a senior French and English dual major and Flick is a senior economics major with a minor in French language and culture. They are students of Eileen M. Angelini, PhD, professor of French.
The Northeast Conference on the Teaching of Foreign Languages serves educators in all languages from kindergarten through university, in both public and private settings. In existence since the late 1940s, NECTFL is the largest of five regional associations of its kind in the United States, representing educators from Maine to Virginia. The main purpose of the Northeast Conference is to hold an annual meeting to allow educators to update their knowledge about issues and developments in the profession. The organization is widely recognized as providing cutting-edge leadership and sponsoring the professional development opportunities necessary to translate visionary work into practical classroom education.
