BUFFALO, NY - The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology of Korea (MEST) has awarded Amy Creathorn ’13 and Jason Frizlen ’13 the prestigious Global Korean Scholarship in the amount of approximately $2,200 each (or 2,454, 500 KRW) to study abroad at Sogang University, a Jesuit university in Seoul, Korea; for the fall 2012 semester. The scholarship includes monthly allowance, round-trip airfare, settling-in expenses and insurance. Creathorn and Frizlen are the first Canisius University students to study abroad in Korea. They are students of Ji-Hee Kim, PhD, associate professor and director of entrepreneurship.
- Creathorn is a junior entrepreneurship major at Canisius University.
- Frizlen is a junior entrepreneurship/management dual major at Canisius University.
Upon completion of their study abroad experience, Creathorn and Frizlen will report on their experience to the Office of International Affairs at Sogang University and present an information session on study abroad to Korea at Canisius University. The purpose will be to promote the college’s partnership with Sogang University and study abroad in Korea.
