Buczkowski ’86 Gets Called Up
Promoted to vice president of Rich Baseball Operations
Mike Buczkowski ’86, long-time general manager for the Buffalo Bisons, is now vice president of Rich Baseball Operations. He oversees day-to-day operations of Double-A Northwest Arkansas Naturals of the Texas League (Kansas City Royals affiliate) and the Single-A West Virginia Black Bears of the NY-Penn League (Pittsburgh Pirates affiliate). Buczkowski continues his role as Bisons general manager.

Pulitzer Prize-winning cartoonist shares his journey
As a political cartoonist, Adam Zyglis ’04 believes it is his responsibility to ignite discussion or debate on current events. In an interview with Buffalo Spree magazine, Zyglis expands on this idea and reflects on his career, from drawing for The Griffin newspaper to becoming a Pulitzer Prize-winning editorial cartoonist for The Buffalo News.

MacDougall ’10 calls penalties for NHL instead of taking them
During his final three seasons with the team, former Griffs ice hockey player Peter MacDougall ’10 led the team in penalty minutes. MacDougall now puts players in the ‘sin bin’ instead of occupying it! On April 8, MacDougall made his National Hockey League (NHL) debut officiating a game between the Dallas Stars and the Colorado Avalanche.
MacDougall previously spent a season as a referee in the American Hockey League (AHL) and three seasons with the ECHL.

Julie Urban ’94 is a shining example of where a Canisius education can take you. M&T Bank named her senior vice president and general auditor. The promotion comes after the company split the duties of the late President Mark J. Czarnecki MBA ’91.

Recognized for building a strong culture of participation
As her career in human resources advanced, Christine Tricoli ’85, MBA ’94 learned the key to a company’s overall success and how to engage staff. It directly correlated to her level of dedication in training, educating and connecting with the people of that company.
For her efforts, Best Practice Institute awarded Tricoli its Senior Executive Board Top Talent Executive Award. Best Practice Institute is a leadership and management association that focuses on best and innovative business and talent management practices.
Tricoli is senior vice president and head of talent services for CIT Group.
