BUFFALO, NY - Julie Gibert, PhD, professor and chair of history at Canisius University, has been selected to participate in the American Historical Association (AHA) History Tuning Project.
Funded by a grant from the Lumina Foundation, the purpose of the project is to articulate the disciplinary core of historical study, and define what a student should understand and be able to do at the completion of a history degree program. The History Tuning Project brings together accomplished history faculty from more than 60 institutions across the country who will work together to develop common language that communicates the significance and value of a history degree to a broad audience.
Canisius University is one of 28 Catholic, Jesuit colleges in the nation and the premier private college in Western New York. Canisius prepares leaders – intelligent, caring faithful individuals – able to pursue and promote excellence in their professions, their communities and their service to humanity.
