The second Canisius Conversations with President John J. Hurley was held on Friday, April 21 at GEICO in Amherst. GEICO employs 119 Canisius grads in the Western New York region, and 25 hold management positions.
Alumni gathered to hear President Hurley present a talk on the state of the college followed by a question-and-answer session and discussion.
Tricia Dwigun ’95, director of human resources from the Buffalo Regional Office, hosted the Canisius group. The contingent from Canisius included Bill Collins, vice president for institutional advancement; Deans Daniel J. Borgia, PhD, Elizabeth A. Gill, PhD and Jeffrey R. Lindauer, PhD; as well as staff from the Office of Alumni Engagement and the Griff Center for Academic Engagement.
Created by Alumni Engagement and the Griff Center, the series was started to engage with fellow Griffs at companies throughout Western New York. Additional events are planned with a wide array of industries throughout the area.
