Buffalo, NY – The Richard J. Wehle School of Business at Canisius University will present a live webinar on Tuesday, May 12 at 12:00 p.m. titled “The Economic Impact of Covid-19 and What it Means Going Forward.” The webinar is being hosted by Canisius University Professors of Economics George M. Palumbo, PhD and Julie Anna M. Golebiewski, PhD, both of whom are scholarly experts on the local, regional and national economies. Because the webinar is live, participants will have the opportunity to ask questions of Palumbo and Golebiewski.

A veteran professor of economics and finance, George Palumbo is also director of the MBA program at Canisius and co-author of Western New York Economic News. The online newsletter is published three times per year. It analyzes and forecasts economic trends in the Buffalo-Niagara metropolitan statistical area, and contrasts these trends with those in New York State and the nation.
Julie Anna Golebiewski is an assistant professor of economics at Canisius University and a contributor to Western New York Economic News. Her research interests are focused on the effects of government policy on the economic realities of those the policy impacts. Prior to joining the faculty ranks at Canisius in 2015, Golebiewski worked as an economist in New York City and New Mexico, forecasting economic conditions and tax revenues, estimating the fiscal impact of public policies, and analyzing economic data with an emphasis on employment and labor markets. She is a 2004 graduate of Canisius University and holds an MS and PhD in economics from the Maxwell School for Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University.
