Buffalo, NY - A native of Ontario, Canada, Drew spent time at two different colleges at opposite ends of the continent before discovering the perfect fit in Western New York. Recruited to play Division 1 baseball, he felt right at home as a Canisius Golden Griffin.
Despite an affinity for math, he wasn’t sure what he wanted to major in. During his freshman year, two professors spotted his talent for numbers and encouraged him to take courses in business. Solving finance problems was the intellectual outlet he needed—he quickly found his path as an economics major. Selected for the elite capstone course, the Golden Griffin Fund, he spent long but fulfilling hours in the Nelson. D. ’67 Civello Family Financial Markets Lab, sharpening his skills and bonding with fellow business majors. During his senior year, he led the Canisius team in the Chartered Financial Institute’s Annual Global Research Challenge. Going head-to-head with finance teams from around the world—in addition to completing demanding coursework—prepared him well for a career in business. After earning his bachelor’s degree, he stayed on at the Wehle School of Business to earn an MBA.
Today Drew is a resident of his adopted hometown of Buffalo and an executive at Citi, where he specializes in exchange-traded funds.
