Canisius University named Kimberly A. Venti, of Williamsville, NY, vice president for institutional advancement, effective February 3, 2020. In her new role, Venti is responsible for creating, implementing and evaluating a comprehensive, multi-year plan to increase donors and dollars in support of Canisius. She is similarly charged with engaging internal and external stakeholders in the planning and implementation of a compelling case for support of Canisius. Venti will work closely with Canisius President John J. Hurley and members of the college’s Board of Trustees on the development and implementation of a high-level prospect strategy. Prior to her current position, Venti served as associate vice president for institutional advancement at Canisius.
A proven leader with more than 20 years’ fundraising experience, Venti joined the college in 2018 after holding senior development positions with Roswell Park Cancer Institute, the University at Buffalo Jacobs School of Medicine and Erie County Medical Center. Venti was director of development for the University at Buffalo’s Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences where she was a key staff member in raising funds to build the new downtown medical school as part of a $200 million comprehensive campaign.
Venti holds a master’s degree in multidisciplinary studies and a bachelor’s degree in general studies both from the State University College at Buffalo.
