Buffalo, NY - Canisius University will offer a concentration in health information technology within its Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree beginning with the Fall 2017 semester. The health information technology concentration can be completed as part of the 48 credit hours required for the MBA degree.
“Information technology is the backbone of the health care industry,” said Daniel J. Borgia, PhD, dean of the Richard J. Wehle School of Business. “Health information technology is a growing field in need of personnel with this expertise. This concentration provides graduates with marketable knowledge of the complexities of information technology and the skills to assume leadership roles in health care organizations.”
The health information technology concentration consists of three online courses presented in eight-week formats, providing flexibility for students. Concentration courses, instructed by top faculty in the field, include Introduction to Health IT, Planning, Management and Leadership for Health IT and Health IT Workflow.
